We dont do the soppy Valentine’s thing at the Jug, we feel that a lovely meal in cosy and relaxing surroundings speaks for itself. Stange & Co., a small family firm of seven pubs, based on the Wirral is creating a new role of Operations Manager, to allow the board to focus on growing the business.
As Operations Manager you will be directly responsible for our seven sites, with the further sites being added as we go. Our sites are increasingly food focused, with menus of freshly prepared, quality seasonal dishes so we are looking for a candidate with a passion for British food, cask ales and wines. We’re looking for someone not only to maintain the sites but continue to drive and develop them.
You’ll need to be a strong character, who can have influence and control over multiple sites and be able to set achieve and maintain financial targets agreed, to deliver a healthy bottom line. You’ll be responsible for keeping our sites in tip top condition, our staff smiling and giving great service and ensuring we’re serving great food, and great beer each and every time. An ability to organise yourself and others will be essential. You’ll be expected to chair and organise quarterly managers’ meetings and report directly to the board. You will be involved with and responsible for HR issues at the sites; ranging from the day to day motivation of the team to disciplinary procedures & dismissals.
Experience of operating standards & procedures is a must as the job will require a strong systems focus for implementation, improvement and the maintaining of our standards & procedures to ensure consistency and quality across all sites. Experience of training individuals and larger groups would be useful.
Attention to detail, enthusiasm and an ability to communicate at all levels are essential. You must have experience of operating over multiple sites or lots of experience of delivering high volume quality food.
Salary: £35k + bonus (up to £15K) + contributory pension scheme

As Assistant Manager:
- *You will need an outgoing personality, bags of enthusiasm and an ability to get on with anyone and everyone.
- *Experience within the hospitality industry is preferred.
- *Experience of dealing with and managing people is a must…the more varied the people the better.
- *You need to be a team player and have a passion for working in the industry.
Salary – Salary would be 18-20k per annum (plus contributory pension scheme) appropriate for the experience & expertise of the successful applicant.

Our delicious Sunday roasts are served weekly so don’t bother with the effort of making a roast this weekend, let us do it for you!
